Well, folks… we made it.
Chapter 26 dropped yesterday, officially closing the book on Book 1 of the Bougie Apocalypse Saga: The Cough Is Loose.
Jack, Raych, Tom, Sarah, and Mikey survived the early days of the end of the world, defended their coffee rituals with extreme prejudice, and somehow managed to keep a stubborn grip on civilization even while the zombies tried to rip it away.
It’s been one hell of a ride.
But this is far from the end of their story.
Book 2: Staying Human is already underway. Expect more beans (and the inevitable drama when the good ones start running low), more bullets, smarter Walkers, new friends, and the occasional new headache that comes with them. The crew is rolling north with a plan, loaded vehicles, and Jack’s eternal optimism that proper coffee might still save what’s left of humanity.
There will be three main books in the series, plus the prequel Sergeant’s Ledger. You can already read one chapter from the middle of that arc (“First Night Home,” when Jack returns from a deployment in Iraq). That’s where you’ll finally see exactly how Jack became Jack.
Thank you for riding along through Book 1. Your comments, encouragement, and support have meant more than you know. This whole thing started as a lark, just a story I told for fun. But it has become something I genuinely look forward to every week.
